Marble · Rosso Levanto

A warm limestone that reads in straight horizontal grain rather than veining. The open pores are filled and honed to a soft matte, so it stays quiet under lamplight instead of bouncing it back. This is the easiest of our stones to live with. It sits happily next to oak, boucle and brushed brass, and it takes the chill off a room that leans grey.

The piece

Nexo starts as a cube. Two diagonal cuts meet in the middle and leave a floating diamond of empty space behind. Head on it is bold and flat. Walk past it and the opening shifts and closes on itself. This is the one guests tend to ask about.

  • Mitred corners, the grain wraps continuously around the block
  • Diagonal void cut and hand-polished on all internal faces
  • Solid 40 × 40 cm footprint, felt-padded
  • Each piece is unique; veining will differ from the photograph

Styling it

Nexo carries real visual presence, so give it room to breathe. It does best on its own beside a lounge chair or against a plain wall, where the diagonal opening has something to read against.

Caring for Rosso Levanto

Polished Rosso is dense and low-porosity. Dust with a soft dry cloth and avoid acidic cleaners (citrus, vinegar, descalers) which will dull the polish.
